Hi everyone,
It’s an awesome day here in Milwaukee. The Harley davidson anniversary is underway and the place is jumping with motorcycles. It’s really something to see all the bikes. I never really got to see the large number of bikes in LA during the Toys for Tots drive so this is great. That’s our big excitement this weekend. I was almost temped to pack a cooler and go out to the lake for the day but decided not to deal with the traffic. I was sitting here enjoying the weather and I started thinking about our guys and what they may be doing this weekend. It’s a bit funny to think of them as the average family guy doing the Labor day grill out, its believable but a bit funny since they’re celebrities. I know this is a tyr site but did, or would you consider, opening a section of stories about them as themselves (Josh, Travis etc) handling such things as the Labor day grill out with all the family insanity, etc? It could be fun. :-*

I'm in no way connected to the admin...and Gail..get me if I'm out of line here....As much as I would love to toss around ideas about the actors and how they celebrate holidays and such....

We could get into serious trouble using the actors..names or anything else and talking/writing about them...

Fanfiction at it's best is in a gray area as it is...because even though the writers create their own plots and OC's to interact with the fellows.....we are still using something that was created by someone else without their permission....

Most take the 'out of sight, out of mind' path in regards to fanfiction...as most creators whether it be that of a tv show like TYR or an author like Laurell k Hamilton...her Anita Blake series is a favorite of mine and I've been involved in different RPG's in her universe...

I wouldn't personally want to do anything to make the TYR PTB or the TYR actors angry with us fans...

I have to agree with you Wendy. Fanfiction is about the characters of the show and it's fun to write/read about them. However when you start writing about real people it can get ugly. I seem to remember something about that happening in another fandom I'm in(LOTR). If memory serves me correctly, a fan wrote about some of the real life actors in a way that offended them very much. If I'm not mistaken-there was talk of a lawsuit. I know when I went to England and met some of the actors the subject of fanfiction came up. They didn't seem to mind about stories of the characters they played but they didn't like it one bit when fans wrote about them.

I do however on occasion think about what it would be like

Me too Gail....I could imagine all sorts of things about the actors...but I will be satisfied with only making up the scenarios with the characters they played...

I look at it this way..I wouldn't want to find out someone was using me..my name...my personality and such...and using it to make up stories about me......

So if I didn't like having them done about me who is far less interesting....I can only imagine what the TYR actors and such would feel like...

I have to agree as well. Writing fan fiction about the actors would be very disrespectful in my opinion. Also, we could get into major trouble if we did that.

Actually, having been in contact with Travis a few times and knowing that he and people he knows visit my site and message board, I always consider carefully what I write. I try as best as I can to show due respect and not violate anyone's privacy.

For all I know, one or more of the others might be visiting the fandom as well...

So... Let's enjoy reading and writing about the characters we all know and love, and leave the real people out of it!

Sorry to offend everyone. There was no mean intent intended. I would never intentionaly do something to hurt Travis, I respect him to much, so I apologise for not thinking it through before running my mouth. It won't happen again.

Some of the people in the fandom I've known for 11 years!
