Hi Everyone! I haven't been in the fandom for, gosh, a couple of years, except for a little lurking once every couple of months so for those who are curious, this is the Shannon who ran Lovers' Lane with Charla. BTW the site is still up, although it hasn't been updated in 3 years! ;D Sorry, I've been busy with work and having a baby who is now a 2 year old little terror/angel.
I don't think I've ever been to this board (I just registered and I'm waiting on approval), so if I'm in the wrong forum, I apoligize.

Well, for various reasons I've got this plot bunny in my head and cannot get it out. I've never written (well finished) a TYR fic but my hubby is determined to get me to flush this thing out and I'm just afraid nobody would even be interested in reading it.

It's an AU story set in the early 1990's and the riders are in college and in a rock band together. There are some twists involved as well with the characters, Ike and Lou are Teaspoons' kids, and Cody is Rachel's son. Oh and Teaspoon and Rachel are getting married as well. I'm still flushing out all the relationship stuff as I want all the main characters to at some point be in the story. Although I haven't a clue what to do with Jesse.

Some of the inspiration for this story comes from the teen movies of the 80's and 90's, mainly my personal favorite, "Some Kind of Wonderful". With Kid and Lou's relationship having begun like Keith and Watts with Lou having basically been raised up a boy (like Watts) who starts blossoming into a girl with the influence of her new stepmom and her new college roomate. Kid has always loved Lou but never really acted on it, being shy and taking for granted she would never catch another man's eye. Now that she's dressing like a girl, wearing make-up, and the only female in their new band, she is getting a lot of attention, especially from Buck and Jimmy. In fact, my hubby and I came with a great little scene between Kid, Lou, and Jimmy.

So does this sound like something you might want to read?

I've also got some plot problems that I may need help on as I went to a private Christian college and don't have that much experience in the whole college party scene.

I'd also love to keep Ike somewhat mute, maybe mostly deaf, but still a fanstatic keyboardist. I've did some research into deaf musicians (Beethoven being the most well known) tonight so it isn't an unbelievable plot point IMO. I'm just still trying to figure it all out in my head.

Any and all feedback on this plot bunny is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Shannon, welcome back!!! :) I have to agree with Mercy. Your story sounds really interesting, and I would love to read it!! I especially liked the part about Ike and Lou being brother and sister. They always had that kind of relationship, didn't they?

Have a FINE weekend! ;)

Thanks for the feedback Mercy and Kristin! Yes, I always thought Ike and Lou had a special bond similiar to that of siblings. I have started writing it, though I haven't flushed out all the plots points yet, but they'll come in time. My problem is I always have a tendency to get into these LONG stories (probably one of the reasons I can't seem to get them finished). My hubby said his going to make sure I finish this one. This is really becoming a Kid and Lou story, which is know suprise to anyone who knows me. When I get a good bit of it written (I'm still only in Chapter 2), I'll start posting for a beta reader. Thanks again for the encouragement!

I love this idea...Some kind of Wonderful is one of my all time favorite movies from the 80s.....I can so see Kid and Lou in that pairing.....
